ASBL Dialogues
The non-profit association DIALOGUES aims to promote contemporary visual arts in Africa, particularly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It supports initiatives in the art and culture field in the DRC
Contemporary art gallery
Since 2000, the association has had and has funded a Contemporary Art Gallery within the National Museum of Lubumbashi, for presenting and promoting the work of Congolese and international artists.
For the past ten years, young Congolese artists have come to the public’s attention and are gradually acquiring a well-earned international reputation. Some of them, supported by Dialogues, are now exhibiting their works in other African countries as well as in Europe, Asia and North America.
Today, dozens of artists, among the best in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, are directly or indirectly connected to Dialogues.
Dialogues also organises exhibitions outside of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Added to the promotion of contemporary art are also cultural and social missions. Tours of the Gallery are for example organised for pupils of the schools of the city of Lubumbashi.
The Dialogues association numbers among its main patrons Mr and Mrs George A. Forrest, as well as the Rachel Forrest Foundation.
