\"CMC:On May 8, 2021, the Minister of Health of Haut-Katanga, Joseph Sambi Bulanda launched the vaccination campaign against COVID-19<\/strong> at the Community Medical Center (CMC) in Lubumbashi.<\/p>\n

Willing to support the provincial authorities in this campaign, the CMC has installed a medical unit<\/strong> on its site and made its qualified personnel and equipment available. All expenses related to the operation of the vaccination unit are taken care by the CMC. \"VaccinationMalta David Forrest, CEO of Forrest Group: “When the Authorities of Haut-Katanga requested the participation of the CMC for the vaccination campaign, we did not hesitate for a second. We immediately made personnel and technical resources available. This vaccination campaign is a continuation of the preventive actions<\/strong><\/a> we have been taking against the transmission of the COVID-19 disease since 2020.<\/em> “<\/p>\n

As of Monday, May 10, volunteers can be vaccinated against COVID-19 by qualified personnel under very strict hygienic conditions.<\/p>\n

Independent medical unit<\/h2>\n

\"COVIDThe CMC’s vaccination unit has been installed in the parking lot of the hospital. This installation is divised in four distinct areas<\/strong>: an outdoor shaded waiting area, a consultation office, a vaccination room and finally a rest room. Patrick William, CEO of CMC: \u201cThe vaccination unit is independent from the hospital center, which means that patients and visitors have no contact with people who come to be vaccinated. All areas have been designed to ensure social distancing<\/strong><\/em>.” Several disinfection and hand washing stations are located throughout the site. Air extraction and purification machines have also been installed to ensure a healthy environment in the indoor areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Qualified medical staff<\/h2>\n

Four CMC health professionals are assigned exclusively to the vaccination unit. Patrick William, CEO of CMC: \u201cVaccination at CMC takes place in 3 stages: volunteers are first seen by a doctor to provide some information about their health. They are then referred to a nurse for administration of the vaccine. Finally, a rest period is provided. Each vaccinated person receives an official certificate<\/strong><\/em>. “<\/p>\n

More than 60,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine are affected in the Haut-Katanga Province. The vaccine is primarily intended for people aged 55 and over, those living with co-morbidities and volunteers aged 18 and over.<\/p>\n

\"MaltaSince the opening of the CMC’s vaccination unit, several dozen people have already benefited from the COVID-19 vaccine. Malta David Forrest<\/strong>, CEO of the Forrest Group, came personally to receive a first dose of the vaccine. \u201cGetting vaccinated is obvious to me. It is part of the collective effort to curb this disease. At the CMC, the vaccination takes place under optimal hygienic conditions, which is very reassuring. “<\/p>\n

The CMC’s vaccination center is accessible without an appointment Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. The COVID-19 vaccine is free<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
